The inspiration of PSUMA first started as a simple spreadsheet. Rich Surace (’00) used this small list to keep track of his meteorology friends after graduation. Every few months, Rich would email a “newsletter” to people on this list to keep everyone up-to-date with their peers. Friends would occasionally contact Rich to request information of mutual friends. These requests (and suggestions from friends) sparked the idea of making contact information available to everyone.

With the current resources available, the easiest way to accomplish this database is via the internet. To help with such an endeavor, Rich recruited Sean Bowser (’01) to lead the website development. After several months of planning and designing, PSUMA was born! We hope you find the information in the PSUMA both useful and enjoyable.
